01 / The idea

Roast the slop.
Share the recipe.

After poking fun at the familiar glossy AI food poster, I wanted to offer something more useful: a way to make deliberate design choices.

So I kept the subject consistent and changed the art direction. Woodblock print, Swiss typography, watercolour, paper cut: each medium brings its own marks, materials, and visual rhythm.

This is a visual study for “SAMPLE FOOD TRUCK”, a fictional concept. It isn't a real restaurant menu or a client campaign.

The creative brief

The food stays.
The expression changes.

Keep steady

  • One cheeseburger, fries, a red drink cup, and a small truck
  • The burger as the hero; the truck secondary
  • Three short, consistent lines of copy
  • A portrait 2:3 poster with clear hierarchy

Change with intention

  • The medium and its distinctive texture
  • A restrained colour palette
  • Composition, space, and scale
  • The way lettering supports the image

02 / The prompting recipe

Give the image
a job.

A useful prompt defines the outcome before it describes the look.

  1. 01

    Set the brief

Purpose + subject + exact copy

  2. 02

    Choose the visual language

    Medium + palette + composition

  3. 03

    Set the boundaries

Layout rules + what to avoid

04 / What to take away

Better direction.
More character.

01

Name a medium, not just a mood.

“Woodblock print, carved black contours, warm red and ochre ink” gives the image a more specific direction than “make it look amazing.”

02

Make the hierarchy explicit.

Choose the main subject, keep the copy short, and leave room for it to breathe. More effects don't automatically make a stronger poster.

03

Refine one decision at a time.

Ask for more space, fewer colours, or simpler artwork. Hold the rest of the brief steady so you can judge what changed.
